Abstract: This study aimed to identify the role of strategic planning on the sustainability of NGOs. The study dealt with the elements of strategic planning (vision, mission, objectives, planning, evaluation, control, implementation) and their impact on achieving sustainability. The study gained its importance from the importance of strategic planning in achieving sustainability, as this study deals with the reality of strategic planning in non-governmental organizations to achieve sustainability, and the importance of the challenges facing the strategic planning process,In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive and analytical approach was used, and the questionnaire was adopted as a main tool for collecting and analyzing data and discussing the study questions that were distributed to a random sample of the study population represented by the employees and managers of non-governmental organizations, The study sample reached (55) male and female employees, (47) questionnaires were retrieved for statistical analysis, at a rate of (85.4%). The data were entered and classified through the statistical packages program (Spss), and the study reached many results, the most important of which are: The employees the employees do not actively participate in developing the vision, mission, and goals of the organization, And that the participation of the beneficiaries of the local community in the development of the organization’s strategic plan is weak, and the funding is weak and the financial resources are not always and continuously available, Also, there is no statistically significant relationship at the level of significance (0.05) in the estimates of employees and managers of non-governmental organizations of the reality of strategic planning VI and its role in the sustainability of non-governmental organizations due to (gender, geographical area, age of the institution, number of employees in the institution). The study concluded with a set of recommendations for decision-makers in non-governmental organizations, the most important of which are: The need for the organization to involve its employees in developing the vision, mission and goals of the organization effectively, And the need to involve the beneficiaries of the local community in developing the strategic plan of the organization, and to search for new and permanent sources of funding.
