Abstract: Introduction Electronic medical records (EMR) are considered an important aspect to improve medical services provided to patients. Therefore, medical institutions seek to convert paper medical records (PMR) into electronic ones. The first experimental initiative in Palestine was implemented in Rafidia and Darwish Hospitals, and then it was circulated to the rest of the government hospitals, but the private sector rarely uses EMR. Purpose of the study The purpose of this study was to assess the electronic medical health records at Al-Razi hospital, the advantages of using EMR, and identify the challenges that face the implementation of EMR Method of the study The study was mixed method, qualitative and quantitative. The use of a questionnaire for all staff in the Al-Razi hospital that estimated 602, and the interviews were conducted with 7 participants. Results Approximately 136 participants out of 602 with response rate 66% participated in the study. In general, the attitudes of Al-Razi hospital employees is in favor of adopting EMRs. The study findings reported that employees perceived the use of EMRs to have several benefits. The most common benefits include promoting patient safety culture and drug error reduction. In addition, the study findings reported that employees perceived VI the use of EMRs to have several challenges. The most common challenges include lack of knowledge and skill, insufficient time to use EMR, and limited of computers. Conclusion Health informatics brings various benefits to the healthcare system. Some participants believed that the EMR system would improve patient care and it will improve patient satisfaction.
