| Abstract: | Aims: The study aims to explore employee’s perceptions of the trust in the HR department in the corporate banking sector of Palestine, focusing on how HR policies and their implementation contribute to this trust. Additionally, it seeks to understand the factors that influence trust from both employees' and HR management perspectives. Methods: A qualitative research design was conducted, using a single case study approach in a major bank in the West Bank, Palestine. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews with 15 employees, including the HR manager, department heads, and general staff. Thematic analysis was conducted to identify themes regarding factors that influence trust in the HR department, policies, and their implementation. Results: The study identified several key themes that contribute to employee trust in HR departments, namely, the importance of fairness and transparency in policy implementation, effective communication channels, HR presence and accessibility, and challenges such as resistance to change and cultural factors. Trust was found to be heavily influenced by consistent policy application, and the reduction of favoritism. Limitations: A limited, context-specific sample was used in this qualitative investigation, which was based on a single case study methodology. This could limit how broadly the results can be applied. Interviews were the only way to gather data because of Palestine's economic situation, political unrest, and limited data access. Furthermore, bias might have been introduced by the bank's selection of participants and the dependence on a single entity. Even though using many case studies could improve validity and comparative understanding, it was not practical in the given situation. Notwithstanding these drawbacks, the study offers insightful information about Alpha Bank's HR procedures and lays the groundwork for further investigation |
