| Abstract: | This study explores the relationship between Self-Leadership (SL), Work Engagement (WE), and Innovative Work Behaviors (IWBs) in luxury hotels, with a focus on the moderating role of personality traits. A quantitative research approach was employed utilizing a structured questionnaire to gather data from 466 hotel managers across various establishments in Egypt. Partial least squares structural equation modeling was used to test the proposed research model. The findings reveal that SL significantly enhances WE, which, in turn, positively influences IWBs. Moreover, WE mediates the relationship between SL and IWBs. The moderating effects of conscientiousness (CON) and openness to experience (OE) were found to strengthen the SL-WE relationship. The study offers theoretical and practical insights for managers, policymakers, and researchers, emphasizing the importance of cultivating SL and fostering WE to enhance innovation in the hospitality sector. By incorporating personality traits as a moderator, this study provides a novel perspective on the dynamics of SL, WE, and IWBs within the context of Egyptian luxury hotels, contributing valuable knowledge to the management and organizational behavior literature. |
