Abstract: | The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how emotional intelligence can impact the leadership competencies of leaders in private Palestinian companies and specifically in the insurance sector. Through the use of a survey design that was given to the study sample, the researcher employed a mixed research methodology that combined quantitative and qualitative research methods. The primary resource that consists of a questionnaire was distributed to (68) leaders from top and middle level management that are in the insurance sector that targeted Global United Insurance, Al-Mashriq Insurance Company and Ahlia Insurance Company. [Document title] VI The highest mean is the first dimension (self-awareness), then the (social awareness), then (relationship management) and lastly, (self-management) consecutively. There is a high level of leadership competency development in insurance institutions in Palestine. Also, there is a positive and high correlation between all the emotional intelligence constructs and the development of the leadership style in insurance sector in Palestine. As there is a positive and significant impact for social-awareness and relationship management on the leadership competence development. However, there is positive but insignificant effect for the self-awareness and self-management on the leadership competency management. According to the study's findings, the insurance institutions in Palestine have a high level of leadership competency because most of their executives strive to create a culture of openness and discussion, but they are less adept at successfully navigating complex situations in order to accomplish their projects' goals. The findings also suggest that emotional intelligence significantly influences leadership competency, and that social awareness and relationship management have positive, significant effects on the growth of leadership competency. The management of leadership competency is affected favorably but marginally by self-awareness and self-management. |
