Abstract: | Growing awareness of environmental issues among stakeholders create increasing pressure on manufacturing companies to adopt green strategies including green human resource management practices. Thus, this study aims to assess the relationship between green human resource management practices and the sustainable performance of the Palestinian manufacturing companies. To achieve this objective, the quantitative hypotheses-testing approach is utilized. Primary data are gathered, using an electronically distributed questionnaire, from a sample of )144( HR managers working in manufacturing companies. The developed questionnaire consists of three parts: (1) companies’ characteristics, (2) green human resource management practices, and (3) sustainable performance. A five-point Likert scale, ranging from Strongly Disagree to Strongly Agree, is used in the last two parts of the questionnaire. Data are analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression analysis. The SPSS software is utilized in data analysis. The results of the study indicate that the Palestinian manufacturing companies implement green human resource management practices at a moderate level, with mean value of (3.32) on a five-point scale. In addition, the results show that the sustainable performance of these companies is high, with mean value of (3.80) on a five-point scale. Finally, the regression analysis confirms that the dimension of green reward and compensation is the only one among the five dimensions of green human resource management practices that has a significant positive impact on the sustainable performance of the Palestinian manufacturing companies. v In light of the results of the study, the researcher recommends Palestinian manufacturing companies to pay increasing attention to the dimensions of green training and development, green performance management and appraisal, green reward and compensation, and green empowerment and participation. |
