Abstract: Introduction: This study assesses the prevalence and risk factors of intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) in premature (gestational age <32 weeks) in Southern West Bank hospitals. It aims to improve nursing practices in Neonatal intensive care units and develop effective preventive strategies for Intraventricular Hemorrhage. Methodology: A total of 186 premature infants were included in this retrospective study from Palestinian hospitals, A designed checklist methodology was utilized to acquire and process patient data confidentially. Results: This study found that 32.3% of premature (gestational age <32 weeks) developed intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH), with 53.3% of these cases being low-grade. Lower gestational age was associated with a higher incidence of IVH, especially in babies less than 28 weeks, This study found that Maternal steroid administration significantly reduced Intraventricular Hemorrhage risk. And found umbilical catheter insertion, surfactants, blood transfusions, nasal CPAP, pulmonary hemorrhage, and invasive respiratory assistance, were significant predictors of Intraventricular Hemorrhage. Conclusion:. The study highlights risk factors for Intraventricular Hemorrhage such as nasal CPAP use, lower Gestational Age, surfactant administration, and blood transfusion, and the study highlights potential preventive measures for Intraventricular Hemorrhage in this region.
